INTRODUCTION AND GETTING ORGANIZED

The first quarter of 2013 was spent getting my final preparations in for the Shiloh Slaughter, which went better than expected at the end of January. The tournament however was the last opportunity to play with the previous edition of the Warriors of Chaos book, so it would also be the last time I got to play with that specific army. I have since sold almost the entire army to the organizer of the Shiloh Slaughter for his own Warriors army (which I imagine has grown fairly extensive). I’ve used the money from that and some commission work to build up new armies and my own Fortress of Solitude...

99 PROBLEMS (Maybe More)

I have a few issues to work out with my software and database, unfortunately that might take a while. That said, don’t expect any new posts until the problem(s) are resolved. Meanwhile, I’m going to continue working on my projects and I’ll have some very big updates in the future. It’s no secret that my wife has been pregnant, in recent months it’s definitely become nigh impossible to hide really. A couple of weeks ago (the 9th) I got a call from my wife, she’d been feeling bad and decided to go to the doctor. She was admitted to the hospital and before long we had an understanding, my wife was going to be relegated to bed rest until the baby was born. Over the weekend she was released to go home under strict orders for bed rest, then Tuesday happened (again)…

I’d been monitoring her vitals per the doctors instructions, and that day everything started to look a little rough. She had a borderline fever, her extremities and face were swollen, and her blood pressure was hypertension level...

A Year of Change…

MISSED OPPORTUNITY

Ten years ago I started blogging, and three years ago on June 2nd I started SRS Business. This year, things were hectic to say the least and I missed the chance to celebrate the anniversary properly. A lot has happened in the past year, and the new year is shaping up to be just as big. So what have I been up to?

LAST YEAR

The first change? I quit World of Warcraft. I quit all Blizzard games, and I haven’t picked up a new MMO. I don’t even have my account anymore, I let a hunter friend from my guild take it over. So, I’m out the only way you can ever really get out by getting rid of the account entirely...

THE EXODUS

So, the move was a success, it actually didn’t take as long as I thought it would to get moved and unpacked. What did take time however was getting out internet up and running, we’ve used AT&T DSL since we moved here and I’ve had nothing but problems every time I’ve had to call them. This time however was something special. We officially moved on the 14th of of June, our DSL was not working until July 10th. I made repeated calls trying to deal with the situation, the last call however seemed to do the trick…

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE

Well, first let me say I understand I didn’t make my normal post this week. I pride myself on my regularity, with regards to posting. However, the real world had different plans this week and I was side-swiped by fate. What happened, well to answer that I need to give you just a little bit of background info first.

About seven years ago, my friend John married my cousin Heather. At the wedding, I spotted this little woman and before the summer was over, we were married. We’ve been inseparable since. We’ve literally spent a total of maybe two weeks apart since then...

Business as Usual will return next week, today however I have a few very important things to discuss in addition to the normal gold talk.

LEAVE THE GUN
A week ago I succumbed to a particularly voracious strain of the summer cold, I was largely confined to my bed while my lovely wife had the unfortunate job of being pissed off that there was nothing she could do. We spent the week (one of the last before school starts and my wife and I both start working again) in bed watching my wife’s favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes.

Sometimes things have a way of creeping up on you, I’ll be honest – I thought I had more time to get some things done, but I didn’t. It’s been a crazy time here lately, but things are finally winding down. I’m back, and I’ve got tales to tell.

THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE (aka My Office)
Last week everything was finally moved to the new apartment, my wife’s been out of town all week with a seminar for the school. Meanwhile, I’ve been trying to put our new place into some semblance of home. So far so good, but there’s still plenty to do. I’ve been incredibly busy since I disappeared, as things settle here I’ll get some pics of the place and post them here.
