THE EXODUS 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO

Sometimes things have a way of creeping up on you, I’ll be honest – I thought I had more time to get some things done, but I didn’t. It’s been a crazy time here lately, but things are finally winding down. I’m back, and I’ve got tales to tell.

THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE (aka My Office)
Last week everything was finally moved to the new apartment, my wife’s been out of town all week with a seminar for the school. Meanwhile, I’ve been trying to put our new place into some semblance of home. So far so good, but there’s still plenty to do. I’ve been incredibly busy since I disappeared, as things settle here I’ll get some pics of the place and post them here. For now though, I’ll share with you a look at my own little corner of the apartment (click the images for fullsize).

MORE REAL LIFE
We live in a small town now, which has it’s pros and it’s cons. For starters, we’re in a dry county. I blame it on Wal Mart, we’re actually in the same county as the Wal Mart home office facilities. And let’s face it, Wal Mart is a bit like Disney in that they have an agenda. And you will comply, and damned well better like it. Or else.

Pseudo conspiracy mongering aside, I really like it here. Everyone’s been friendly, and despite a few minor problems it’s been a really simple thing to move here. Previous concerns over keeping the place cool are pretty much non existent at this point, the place manages 64 degrees if you actually want it that cold.

THE BLOGGINS
I’ve got a lot of material that was waiting for the anniversary event and either didn’t get finished or didn’t get used because of everything that happened. However, a lot of it is still usable so I’m planning on getting my ducks in a row in the coming weeks and getting a lot of posts up. Most notably is an interview with Saate that should be appearing later on this weekend.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT
I finally broke 500K, I’ve spent over the current gold cap twice over since Cataclysm was released. But I’m finally putting my nose to the grindstone, and hitting the cap. I’m at the halfway mark, and with a new patch and a new apartment I’m all set to make it happen. It should be noted, that I actually hit 500k just as I was disappearing, I had originally planned to announce it with the bloggiversary special. But things just didn’t pan out that way.

Have a great holiday weekend. Thanks for reading, see you soon!

Would like your opinion on something, if you’d be willing to offer it…

Have 2 JCs (the 3rd is only 40), and have been doing the dailies and collecting tokens – I’ve got some recipes on each (one has the solid colors and some metas, the other has 2-3 recipes in each of the “combo” colors). I’ve got about 50 tokens between the two characters right now – think I should keep stockpiling in anticipation of epic gems…or spend a few and add to my recipes?

Definitely make sure you have the three big red cuts (Brilliant, Bold, and Delicate). After that you may want to start stockpiling. Mageshadow did a nice write up some time ago detailing good cuts to get, Wowpopular: Best Gems to Sell if you’re looking at expanding to a point where you have a solid foothold, this is a good list. Definitely after getting these cuts I’d start stockpiling. It also depends largely on the server, on Bloodscalp for instance Metas aren’t moving very much really. Honestly though, the only really safe bet right now is red.

In looking over that list – I could probably pick up the few that I’m missing (namely the dream emeralds). Anything to get rid of the dream emeralds, bah.

Thanks though – nice to hear I’m on the right track.
