Engines Stop Running, But I Have No Fear

I’ve slid into a punk rock mood of late, and whenever I do the Clash are surely there to welcome me. And really, with Cataclysm on the horizon I can’t think of a better way to welcome the end of the world than with some great, classic punk rock.

I hit the cap again… and again. After getting to the current 214K gold cap on the live servers I hit the PTRs to mess around with some macros and keybinds (before 4.0 goes live), but the real impetus to fire up the PTR was reading an interesting post by Drognir on the JMTC forums. That’s right ladies and gents, the gold cap on the PTR is up to 999999g 99s 99c. For all intents and purposes, 1 million.

Things on the PTR aren’t necessarily smooth atm though, profession training is a pain in the ass. I copied Khaas over and had to train JC and Enc, when I did I got my 450 skill… but I didn’t have ANY of my formulas or designs. Similarly, there aren’t any vendors with glyphs or anything, so I copied my new AH alt over… and there was much rejoicing. I’ve been stockpiling glyphs for a while now, and am currently up to 100 of each. So, there were really some happy people when I made it over. The new glyph UI is pretty slick, in fact all of the new UI changes are nice. They just take a little getting used to.

I’m continuing to knock out achievements, did some older raids with several members of the guild. We’re farming old stuff on the weekends, and it went really smooth. I even managed to get another two-hander for the collection. Monday I hit Exalted with the Oracles, now I just have to finish up The Kalu’ak (should be Exalted on Friday). I’ve already started working on Cenarion Circle and Expedition reputations. Twilight Texts are providing a healthy amount of rep atm, when I can find them on the AH. I’ve also started clearing out the quests in Silithus, so I should hit Exalted with CC soon. CE shouldn’t be a problem, just farming heroics and turning in Coilfang Armaments.

I’m still looking for my last upgrade of the expansion, Belt of Broken Bones. We’ve had only one drop since the instance opened, and it was the week before we started Heroics. So, I’m not holding my breath.

Aside from that, I’ve got my eye on a few other prizes – more tabards, exalted reputations, few mounts, and the Parrot Cage (Hyacinth Macaw) (Threedrakez…)

The Bloodscalp Report
I pulled down another 15K this week (after some spending), despite the weeks earlier announcement that current epic gem xmutes would have their cooldowns removed in 4.0. I have been monitoring gem prices of course, and there has been a dip in price over the weekend. But that’s nothing new, I’ll be keeping an eye on the situation over the coming weeks. My guess though, it’s pretty much the end of gem gem sales for the expansion. I’ve got enough stock to hold me for several weeks, so I’ll burn my way through it, after 4.0 though I think I’ll just coast my way into Cata. I’ve had a good run this expansion and I feel like I’m in a good place. My stockpiling has gone well also.

That’s all for this week, thanks for reading…
