READY TO WEAR

Welcome to Business as Usual, the weekly segment on all that glitters.
A DEVIL AMONG THE TAILORS
Clothes make the man, and in business they say you’re not selling the product so much as you’re selling yourself. In my experience, I’ve found this to be true. But why? And how?
You know that old saw about first impressions being ever so important? It’s true, there’s science behind it. And the first time you meet a customer on one of your AH alts you can make an impression. In business this is crucially important, especially when you’re attempting to establish connections and build new assets. For example, if you’re meeting someone for the first time and they’re trying to talk you into supplying them with your ore on a regular basis, you’re more likely to remember them (and even take them seriously) if the character is suitably impressive – at least visually.
THE PSYCHOLOGY OF LOOKING GOOD
You may sometimes try to sell things face to face. A good example would be when offering things like profession kits. One is likely to take your offer much more seriously if he sees you’re not a level 1 with starter gear on. If you’re a sharp dressed alt, you’re telling your customers that you take your character seriously, you take your business seriously, and that they should take you seriously.
And who doesn’t like to look good? When you look good, you feel confidant. And that confidence can be a valuable weapon when you’re dealing with other people.
MADOF
Madof is the face of SRS BUSINESS, the leader of my own personal guild. He holds the keys to the kingdom so to speak, he’s a fairly typical ah mule really with a few subtle distinctions. First, you’ll note my favored red showing here and there. The Ruby Shades for example are an old school oddity, no longer available from their original source. However, they do make for a good look when combined with a red shirt.

CAVIGLIA
Caviglia’s fashion sense takes the red theme a step further, and is in my opinion pretty well suited to the Blood Elf models. The purpose of this character? He resides on my second account, when I’m playing Khaas on the main account I can spy on the Horde AH and look for/make deals without detracting too much from my endeavors on the Alliance side. I don’t often equip the Thunderfury, I keep it handy though just because it’s a lot easier to find “the BE that’s trailing lightning like a Tesla coil”.

THE BLOODSCALP REPORT
I’ve been playing it conservative since I got back, but I’m finally at a point where I’m ready to make some moves. Unfortunately, margins are slim. Especially with regards to old reliable Jewelcrafting, gems on Bloodscalp have really taken a significant hit. Enchanting sales are fortunately up, so it looks like things are likely to even out at the back end. Other markets are a little on the questionable side however, and Truegold is still bringing in some money. So, for now I’m going to keep at it.
Despite the conservative approach I still managed to bank 25K, after sending 10K to Khaas I’m still sitting on 550K. Not bad, now let’s push for 1 mil.
THE MONEY SHOT
■ 1,000 – Pets
■ 13,000g – Scrolls
■ 3,000g – Gems & Metas
■ 1,000g – Tailored Goods
■ 7,000g – Truegold
25,000g – TOTAL
That’s all for this week, thanks for reading…
