PROLOGUE

Sometimes you have to stop, look around, and reassess the whole scene. Sometimes, it’s time for an UPGRAYEDD. My time is now…

SUSPENDED ANIMATION

Recently I decided to take a break from the models, I know – heresy! The reason for the break? My office looked like the environs immediately outside the apartment of Frito Pendejo from Idiocracy. When my wife and I moved to this house, I had originally planned to share the office space with my wife. It wasn’t long however before we decided that just wasn’t necessary, or even a good idea – probably. The computer was moved into the corner in the living room, and I began spreading out in the room I had claimed as my Fortress of Solitude. Therein lies the problem, the room was first intended to be split...

Welcome to Idle Hands, my weekly segment where I discuss conversions, painting, and strategy for the Warhammer tabletop game…

THIS WEEK

To say life has been interesting in recent weeks would be a massive understatement, my son was born as I mentioned last week. Both he and my wife are both still at the hospital, he was a month early so an extended stay wasn’t exactly a surprise. Eventually, things settled into a routine and it was apparent that my wife would be staying and that I was going to go back home. I’d like to mention also, my son is doing quite well. They’ve taken him off of the IV, he’s eating well and improving daily. He’s off of phototherapy and digesting fine on his own, he’s shaping up to come home before long, and I’ll be happy to have him and his mom here finally.

A Year of Change…

MISSED OPPORTUNITY

Ten years ago I started blogging, and three years ago on June 2nd I started SRS Business. This year, things were hectic to say the least and I missed the chance to celebrate the anniversary properly. A lot has happened in the past year, and the new year is shaping up to be just as big. So what have I been up to?

LAST YEAR

The first change? I quit World of Warcraft. I quit all Blizzard games, and I haven’t picked up a new MMO. I don’t even have my account anymore, I let a hunter friend from my guild take it over. So, I’m out the only way you can ever really get out by getting rid of the account entirely...

THE EXODUS

So, the move was a success, it actually didn’t take as long as I thought it would to get moved and unpacked. What did take time however was getting out internet up and running, we’ve used AT&T DSL since we moved here and I’ve had nothing but problems every time I’ve had to call them. This time however was something special. We officially moved on the 14th of of June, our DSL was not working until July 10th. I made repeated calls trying to deal with the situation, the last call however seemed to do the trick…

Thank you for calling AT&T Customer Service, this is Laura how can I help you?
Me: Good morning Laura, I need to speak to a supervisor please.
Laura: I’m sorry?
Me: So am I, don’t let it ruin your day.
Laura: One moment please sir.

IH: MOVIN ON UP

Welcome to Idle Hands, my weekly segment where I discuss conversions, painting, and strategy for the Warhammer tabletop game…

THIS WEEK

This week there wasn’t a lot of time for Warhammer, the move is kicking into high gear so on the 1st I finished my last model before the move. Now, I’m in the process of packing and sorting everything in my office. My army is a particular logistical issue, as I only have one Sabol Designs Army case (The Motorpool) and I’ve got a lot more models assembled than will fit inside. Luckily, we’re only moving three blocks so I don’t foresee it being a huge problem.

THE BLOG

I’m adding several new features to SRS BUSINESS, you may have already noticed the blogroll to the right of the page...

Year Two Blogiversary Blogsplosion!

SRS HISTORY
I started blogging years ago and far away, I was living in Connecticut then. I was also playing EverQuest. For a while, I managed a web portfolio blog when I was working to become a graphic design student. And then, World of Warcraft happened. By then I had quit EQ and changed majors, but I decided to start a new blog with the initial intent to chronicle my adventures as I dual-boxed my way through instances. I learned I enjoyed the format, and as my focus in the game changed I decided to make a blog specifically about my gaming experiences and so finally ended up with SRS Business. Two years later, I’m still going strong.

NOW AND THE FUTURE
I’ve often wondered who I write this blog for, I know that in the past that question has been a major contributing factor in my abandonme...
