THE BLESSINGS OF NURGLE

Recently I was promoted to Moderator status on the Chamber of the Everchosen forums, a great honor. Better still, there seems to be overwhelming support of my becoming an Admin. Being so empowered has led me to revisit old ideas I had, such as a thread that acts as a basic overview of opposing armies, listing strengths, weaknesses, and some ideas for how to deal with them. I call it the Warlord’s Field Manual, additionally now that it’s pinned I’ll be back to work on The Book of War, a companion book offering general tactics and strategy. The Compendium Chaotica has also been pinned and will receive some more polish as time goes on, there ...

EBAY, A TAIL OF FAILURE

Category: GamesWarhammer Comments: No comments

Since returning to Warhammer I’ve quickly learned the value of eBay, it’s supplied me with piles of bits and miniatures for my armies. In the past year I’ve developed a certain attachment with specific sellers, two in particular have given me nothing but top notch service time and again. That is until one of them let me down a few weeks ago…

WHAT WENT BEFORE

In the past year I’ve bought bits repeatedly, I have several that I buy in bulk to keep on hand. Skulls for example are almost always needed, same with tentacles from the Chaos Spawn, etc. It’s little wonder then that I have certain sellers I prefer...

ANNOUNCEMENT

The blog is going through changes, in recent months I’ve been considering the role of social media and how I want to present content. Right now I have the Blog, Facebook, and Twitter. Each of these has it’s strengths and weaknesses, but each is especially well suited for specific roles. Having said that:

The Blog will continue to be my repository for lists, ideas, and general thoughts on gaming. I’ll be focused primarily on Warhammer but will have other games show up from time to time. I will have less images on the blog in the future, focusing more on finished work rather than wip shots. That doesn’t mean fewer updates, just fewer pictures.

The Fac...

DRAWN & QURTERED – Q2: 2013 – CHAOS DWARFS

Category: Announcements Comments: No comments

Welcome to Drawn & Quartered, a new segment where I review and discuss my plans on a quarterly basis…

INTRODUCTION AND GETTING ORGANIZED

The first quarter of 2013 was spent getting my final preparations in for the Shiloh Slaughter, which went better than expected at the end of January. The tournament however was the last opportunity to play with the previous edition of the Warriors of Chaos book, so it would also be the last time I got to play with that specific army. I have since sold almost the entire army to the organizer of the Shiloh Slaughter for his own Warriors army (which I imagine has grown fairly extensive). I’ve used the money from that and some commission work to build up new armies and my own Fortress of Solitude...

THE BLESSINGS OF NURGLE

The last significant post I made was almost a month ago when I was showing off my first finished unit of Ogres and some characters/unit filler I had made for my Warriors of Chaos. What have I been doing in the meantime? Quite a lot actually, that last post was made at the start of Spring Break. I was excited because it meant a week with my wife home. It turned into a miserable couple of weeks as everyone in the house was sick, even the baby. Now, it’s weeks later and we’re all back to normal. The end of the school year is rapidly approaching and I’ve started yet another army.

In fact, I’ve done a lot of plotting and planning with regards t...

THE BOOKS OF THE NORTH

BOOK I: CHAOS ASCENDANT

FORWARD

In the snows of the northlands there is a place by the sea where a murder of crows can always be found wheeling in the sky. Amongst the tribes of the northmen, it is called the Abode of Ravens. This is the story of the men who call it home…

CHAPTER I: SINS OF THE FATHER

In the year 2294 a boy was born in the city of Praag. He was the son of a blacksmith and a skullery maid, the earliest years of his life were happy. The years passed and the boy grew in ways to please his father, for one day he believed Brom would take up the hammer and anvil after him. Little did he know that the unblinking eyes of a god had fallen directly on his family already.

Time passed and in the year 2300 the family received their first visit from the Chaos G...

BANG BANG, I AM THE WARRIOR

THIS WEEK

It’s Spring Break, that means my wife is home for the week. Home life is good, my son is now five months old and growing more independent. Also, with Spring Break here I can finally get outside and start thinking about summer. With that said, I’ll be turning my attention back to my armies in earnest. My goal is to get 1-2 units finished per week. There will be a fair amount of back and forth between the Warriors and Ogres, as I’d like to get them both painted up pretty quickly. And after this week, I’ve got only a few models left for the Warriors to be finished – so I’m feeling good about that.

THIS WEEK

I’ve been all over the place this week, both literally and figuratively. An old friend died over the weekend, so I spent the early part of last week out of town to attend the funeral. I got home and slowly got back to work, in the past two weeks I spent a little time on all three of my armies. It’s about time to focus though, I need to get an army in fighting shape, it’s just a question of which one. We’ll see where the dice land…

MALEVOLENT CREATIONS

As stated earlier, I did take my first shambling steps with the Vampire Counts army...
